Rauhnacht (a few thoughts on the work)

The „Rauhnacht" are 12 nights between the religious holidays of Christmas and Epiphany. These are 12 nights in which rituals can take place, the past can be processed, and the future of the coming year can be conjured up with rituals (candles, wishes, prayers, vision quests, incense burning, etc.). The Rauhnacht is an ancient tradition from the Alpine region.

The 12 images into which I divided this work refer to the 12 nights, so these 12 musical images should be played with as much variety and expression as possible. The rhythmic part, in particular, can be played more giocoso and "sharply."

The tempi are suggestions that only need to be followed approximately. I hope for the freest possible interpretation of these musical images, which are very different in character.
